Job Description

An opportunity has arisen with a leading high street retailer for an experienced Ladieswear Garment Technologist to join their expanding head office team. As Garment Technologist, your responsibilities will include: * Approving all test reports, ensuring that all products are fit for purpose and that they meet safety standards. * Working closely with the Buying & Merchandising and Design teams to progress effective product development. * Ensuring manufacturing costs are kept to a minimum whilst maintaining brand level. * Liaising with suppliers ensuring that they are adequately briefed so that they can produce right first time development and pre-production samples which meet all manufacturing, performance and fit requirements. * Deputising for the Technical Manager as required exercising agreed levels of authority. To be successful, you will: * Be educated to degree level or equivalent. * Have ladieswear apparel experience with a UK high street fashion retailer or leading supplier to the high street. Ideally you will have multi-product experience however candidates specialising in areas such as jersey or wovens are also encouraged to apply. * Have excellent interpersonal, team working and communication skills. * Be able to take initiative to promote development of the product and demonstrate margin improvement. * Be driven and commercially aware.
