Job Description

A leading high street retailer is looking for Hardware Technologist to work in Furniture. You will report to the Senior Technologist & must be familiar with the rules and regulations, health and safety standards involved with Homewares and have knowledge of design restrictions. The position will ideally be suitable for someone who is a progressive Assistant Technologist looking for the next step up or a current Technologist looking for a new challenge within a hardline retail or supplier background is essential. Working within the hardlines, furniture department, you will be required to – * Ensure that all products are fit for purpose and that they meet safety standards for the UK & EU. * Liaise with off shore factories on all technical and quality issues; * Approve test reports. * You will work closely with B&M & Product Development team working towards – working towards margin improvements! * Strong team working ethos is essential. * Take initiative to promote development of the product.
