Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Distribution Centre Manager for a Global FMCG business. The successful candidate will be self-driven; results orientated and have the ability implement continuous improvement initiatives. In addition they will have a logical approach and strong communication skills. The purpose of the role is to ensure orders are accurately assembled and despatched to customers in a efficient and productive manner. You will thrive on surpassing customer needs, people development and continuous improvement of safety and productivity. Key Responsibilities: * Ensure that customer orders and lead times are consistently met * Lead, motivate and develop a team to the highest standards. * Drive improvements in productivity, costs, quality, stock and safety * Ensure efficiency levels in all aspects of the warehouse operation are maintained at all times within budget * Work to ensure delivery schedules are achieved * Produce and report on key performance indicators for warehouse operations * Ensure that Health, Safety and other standards are observed. To include the completion of regular risk assessments and internal audits * Ensure that all health and safety training is completed * Challenge existing practices via continuous improvement initiatives * Lead key business projects/working groups as directed by line manager The successful candidate will ideally be of graduate calibre or equivalent and have experience of a customer facing role within an FMCG environment. You will be a highly organised, have a hands on approach and have the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and demonstrate the ability to resolve problems to maximise customer service. Being a strong communicator with people management experience is essential and you must have proven experience of building up effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
