Title: Press Officer - Retail Job Number: 100596Salary: £28,000 per annum plus benefits Location: Central London This large Retail company seeks a Press Officer to join their PR team and be responsible for managing the brand representation of their multi-site UK retail company. The Press Officer will be aware of all matters relating to the retailers business and will closely monitor all the media platforms and influence communications internally and externally on behalf of the business. Additionally the Press Officer will be managing and building relationships with PR and business media community and contributing to the positive representation of this retail company. The Press Office plays a critical role in developing high quality media-facing content across all communication channels and you will be writing and maintaining high quality communication / content across the business. Key Activities - Take a proactive approach to manage the positive representation of the retailer for the key stakeholders and customers by creating and implementing effective PR plans.- Support the PR team in meeting the companys strategic objectives by working closely with partners such as PR agencies to drive positive communications in the marketplace and provide timely and accurate briefings and reporting - Drive the retailers media contact programme - Closely monitor on a daily basis the relevant news which covers news media, online and consumer publications.- Identify the retail industry trends and produce content that is insightful and relevant to the companys various audience. - Ensure that the retailer maximises the positive press opportunities through ongoing PR news and other activities - Further expand the companys PR-driven activity which will include press conferences, launches, sales et cetera. - Continually expand your internal and external network of influence in order to maintain good relationships with all parties and provide support is needed - Join and participate in the rota where there are out of hours duties for handling media enquiries and company results.Qualifications and Experience:- A degree in Media, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline - Minimum 3 years experience in a PR or the media in a role - Previous experience in the Retail sector or business press field.- Excellent written and communications skills - Overall you will need to be action-orientated and able to positively communicate all news information on behalf of the company.If this position sounds of interest please forward your CV.
