The Company

Quest Search and Selection is working with this multi-channel, multi-product company that has been established for over 150 years.

The Role

The key objective of this Junior Merchandiser position is to support the Merchandiser in preparing allocations, managing replenishments and analysing data on the performance of the category and range plans.

Your responsibilities as a Junior Merchandiser include –

  • Support in preparation of business plans for the division including sales, stock targets, intaking buying margin, markdowns & margin (gross & net).
  • Work with Branch Merchandising team in regards to the optimum range size, product mix to drive commerciality.
  • Plan the range with the buyer, ensuring historical and future trends data and seasonal variations are taken into account.
  • Forecast promotional activity and volume deals when needed.
  • Track critical paths to ensure seasonal launches are delivered in line with process and launch dates.
  • Assist in setup, review and re-forecast of the WSSI.
  • Work with all suppliers and where the international sourcing office to ensure that all orders are delivered on time.

To be successful in your application for this Junior Merchandiser position you will need –

  • Past experience of being an Assistant Merchandiser, Senior Allocator, Allocator, MAA, or Senior Merchandise Admin Assistant from a high street retailer would be preferable, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in stock management and understanding of the supply chain & allocation processes
  • Commercial and financial thinking with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – you will be building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the business.
  • Tech-savvy – Intermediate Excel and Microsoft office skills.
