The Middle East region has seen a 22% rise of online transactions last year, with “Entertainment” being the sector with the highest sales, according to Payfort (Amazon).
The citizens of the UAE are extremely reliant on mobile apps and quite advanced in terms of performing online transactions, as per Olivia Roberts, the Head of Retail at Quest Search and Selection.
With $12.4bn worth of transactions in the UAE alone, E-Commerce here is certainly BOOMING!
Olivia adds: “Everyone wants to improve their E-Commerce function, whether it be restaurants, clothing stores, electronic retailers. Everyone in the UAE needs E-Commerce specialists. There is a constant need for expat E-Commerce candidates due to them coming from a far more saturated market with excellent reputations of companies such as M&S, Tesco and Primark. When it comes to the E-Commerce, British candidates seem to be the benchmark here.
The launch of Noon.com earlier this month had the business world of the Gulf talking, and despite launching later than originally planned, it is safe to say they’ve made a serious statement in the world of E-Commerce and it’ll be interesting how they perform against Souq.
One thing is for sure, E-Commerce is booming and the opportunity for excellent E-Commerce candidates to take advantage has never been more inviting.”
