Coming from Burberry, Claire has a fantastic understanding of fashion and beauty all of which will be directly relevant to her work at Jack Wills” said Williams, in an interview with Retail Gazette.
“I wanted to hire an inspirational individual to lead our marketing function globally,” Williams added.
Jack Wills has plans to recruit new faces to join the senior management team later this year and is amidst a very exciting year. Williams concluded saying “The caliber of talent which we are attracting at Jack Wills is evidence of the revival of the brand over the past two years and the pace of momentum across the business”.
After a period of substantial decline, Jack Wills are now back to making profits. The company posted its annual results showing operating profits of £730,000 ($940,349) in January as compared to a loss of £13.8 million ($17.7 million) just the previous year.
Olivia Roberts, the Head of Retail (Middle East) at Quest Search and Selection says:
“Within the UK retail market, Jack Wills is a quintessentially British brand and it has a stand out handwriting within its designs, whilst having a quality finish. We seem to see these global trends of brands peaking and then dipping within the market globally. Jack Wills is now over the dip with its sales up 4% to £142.4 million and now with the hire of Claire Waugh, we see the brand reviving and moving towards success.”
