Our survey showed that despite 60% of respondents stating that they are dissatisfied their remuneration packages, the main reason people gave for moving on from their employer was for career development (19%). Additionally, 6% of respondents reported that they chose to take the same position at a different company because there was more scope for growth in comparison to their previous employer. Interestingly, only 8% of respondents said that being offered a higher salary was their primary motivation in changing roles or company. It comes as no surprise that with the working hours associated with the retail industry, 10% of surveyed respondents stated better work/life balance as their main motivator for seeking new opportunities.
