P&G employees ‘can help make a difference’
FMCG giant Proctor & Gamble (P&G) offers its employees the chance to take sabbaticals, where they can help better the lives of children and women in poor countries throughout the world.
Five members of staff at fast moving consumer goods giant Proctor & Gamble (P&G) will be working in the UNICEF Country Offices in Cameroon, Macedonia and Mauritania later this year.
Their trip is part of the Sabbatical Programme, which was launched last year and gives all P&G employees in western Europe the opportunity to undertake charity work abroad.
A selection of local projects have been developed, aiming to improve the lives of women and children in various nations across the globe. P&G staff will get involved with this work during a three-month period away from their permanent role back in Europe.
Vice President of Baby Care in P&G’s Western Europe division Austin Lally said: “This experience will be a great opportunity for them to make a difference and reach their personal goals.
“When they return to P&G I’m sure they will bring with them new skills and experience to help drive the business and purpose of P&G.”
Meanwhile, closer to home P&G recently launched a new programme called P&G&U, which is an interactive online competition for junior university students across Europe. The initiative offers potential future employees the chance to build relationships with the firm at an early stage of their education.
