Menswear Designer - Denim - East Midlands

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Menswear Designer to join the Head Office team of a well known and established retailer based here in the Midlands. Due to the continued success of the department the team are now looking to recruit a denim specialist to assist with their Denim product offering.

Reporting into the Senior Designer you will work to ensure that all designs incorporate the latest fashion trends and meet the customers needs in terms of look, fit and feel.

Key responsibilities to include:

• Managing your workload effectively in order to complete all designs within the desired time frames.
• Producing mood boards to show the overall vision of your area as well as key design influences such as colour, shapes and style.
• Identifying new design opportunities and presenting these to the team and Design Manager accordingly.
• Working closely with the buying and quality teams in order to ensure all samples and prototypes reflect the original designs.

The successful candidate will:

• Currently be working as an established Assistant Designer or already at Designer level; ideally working across Menswear Denim and/or Wovens.
• Have experience working in house for a high street retailer, or a supplier to key high street accounts.
• Have confidence when proposing new ideas and discussing products within the team.
• Have experience using Adobe, PhotoShop and Illustrator along with other relevant design packages.
• Be educated to degree level, or equivalent, within a relevant field such as Design, Textiles or Fashion.
• Have a genuine passion for product, design and the latest trends.
