Category Manager - Chilled - South East

This leading retailer is looking to recruit a Category Manager to oversee a key product area. You will be responsible for the buying, supply and development of a range of products to achieve targets and maximise turnover and profitability.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and developing a profitable and commercial product range
• Negotiating and monitoring terms with suppliers
• Driving cost down within supply base
• Maintaining sales and profit according to budget
• Responsibility for the promotional programme to maximise profit and sales

To be successful you will need:

• An extensive background within Buying
• A Degree or equivalent
• First class negotiation skills with a real eye for commercially viable products
• To be a self-starter who thrives on a challenge

To succeed as Category Manager, you will need to have strong retail buying experience within the chilled and/or fresh food product area, with excellent interpersonal skills. You must have management experience in a trading role.
