Head of Design

One of the UK's most desirable and respected luxury brand, is looking for a new Head of Design.

This much loved British brand, long established and expanding globally, is looking for a highly creative and dynamic individual to lead the womenswear design team.

Working as a key member of the mangement team, you will ideally have experience working with a luxury brand, ideally in Europe, have experience managing a design team, be highly aware of trends but also be commercially aware.

Key duties:

• To give direction and design key items across all lines
• Portfolio should be very directional and demonstrate an ability to think outside the box while being able to maintain an excellent commercial eye
• Be very detailed from concept stage through to specs and final designs
• Overseeing designs of garments for all phases and seasons, creating colour palettes for the ranges and giving direction to senior and junior designers
• Presents the range for sign off and adjustments
• To keep abreast of current season sales and create fast-react product in season to meet demands

Desired Skills & Experience:

Candidates must have relevant experience of womenswear design, ideally already at Head of Design or Senior Designer level. In addition the following key skills and experience are required:

• Working within a luxury/premium brand· International collection experience
• Managing relationships with factories and suppliers
• Creativity and style· Excellent commercial awareness
• Proven track record of delivering in season product
• Proven ability of managing internal relationships and communications
• Project management experience
• Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team with a hands on approach
• Fantastic communication skills and the ability to connect with and inspire people of different levels within the business
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
• Time management and good prioritising skillsAbility to perform under pressure
